The work

Brown Advisory needed to move past one-off AI pilots toward a coherent firm-wide strategy. Shift partnered with the leadership team to assess the opportunity, prioritize the highest-leverage use cases, and stand up the data and platform foundations the rest of the program would run on.

The engagement spanned strategy, data architecture, and a working prototype the firm could continue to extend in-house. We worked alongside research, technology, and compliance leadership to make sure the roadmap matched how the firm actually operates and where AI could earn its keep without creating new risk.

The result

A prioritized AI roadmap tied to business outcomes, plus the infrastructure to execute against it — shipped in a single calendar quarter. Research workflows that previously spanned multiple tools and inboxes are now consolidated into a single context layer that downstream AI capabilities build on.
